Nice Surprise

Tonight was my home group night. I so didn't want to go - I've been out every night this week so far and there seemed to be 101 other really nice things I could do instead. But I was persuaded to go so I went, and (why am I suprised?!), it was a really good evening!

We were talking about serving, looking at Jesus washing the disciples feet. We discussed loads of questions that I had been thinking about lots recently when trying to sort out my own life and think through my motives for serving. Unfortunately my questions weren't necessarily answered, but it was useful to talk through them!

Some of the things we were talking about - just for you to have a think!
Is it easier to serve, or to be served?
Do we ever resist doing what Jesus wants us to do?
When things seem impossible, can we accept Jesus saying 'don't worry, I'll sort it."
What do you do when what you want clashes with what you think God wants? (SUCH a big question!!!! - would LOVE to know the answer to that one!!!)

oooooo, and update on next door neighbour situation - she came back tonight and seems to be there with no furniture..........

Do you think she had to sell her furniture to pay the rent? :(

Big questions re serving! However, one of the hallmarks of Christ and thus something that should definitely be part of our characters as new creations in Christ.
