Life beyond football.....
So life continues! It's been a while since my last post, but I have noticed that there seems to be a general lull in blogging on both sides of the world, is it because it's the summer and we can't be bothered?! (actually, no it can't be because it's your winter!)
Anyway, life is ticking on here at the moment - a day and a half until school breaks up and boy am I ready for it! Can't wait to get away from a boss who is doing my head in and children who are too young and tired to be in school in this weather anyway. We're going through a heatwave at the moment - crazy temperatures, can't believe that this is only going to get worse - what are we doing to the world?
Speaking of the world, also on my mind is Lebennon (how awful, I can't even spell it!). Some friends of mine are over there and I'm worried about them. It all seems like such an over reaction to respond to 2 soldiers being taken hostage. But I'm sure there's more to it - in some ways I hope there's more to it than that because if that's all it is, it's ridiculous. My friends are hopefully being evacuated soon but there are complications - she's Lebanese - what an awful feeling - knowing you can leave but knowing you have to leave behind your family who can't leave. At the moment I'm reading a novel about the 2nd World War and there are so many parallels with people being faced with that choice of feeling like they need to leave, but then having to leave behind people. That's always the worst bit.
Anyway, with global warming and war in the middle east, this isn't the most entertaining of posts, but it's what's on my mind. God, what must you be thinking? Please have mercy on your world.

How awful Ruth. Have you heard any further news?
yes, they are out of Lebanon now, but had to leave some family behind who are Lebanese, but they are in an area that's not badly hit at the moment.
